Maasai Mara

Kenya/ Nairobi & Masai Mara
The key of Africa is Kenya
My first trip to Africa was on March 13, 2017. When the plane landed in Nairobi, I first felt a slight chill. My uneasiness about the journey towards the unknown disappeared when I met Peter. With warm friendship, we boarded the jet and set off towards Masai Mara.
Our first stop in Masai Mara was a tribal settlement where we would bring the group. No matter what I did, I couldn't compete with the magnificent costume of the tribal chief :)
Accommodation in Masai Mara
In this region, hotels have been replaced by "camps", and of course they have a star-rated quality ranking among themselves... While some of them are really like tents, tent-camps, which we can call deluxe, create a very impressive atmosphere with their large rooms, WC-bathrooms and terraces. The common feature is that the electricity in all camps is cut off at 24:00 at night, which is why I spent the first night sitting with a flashlight in my hand.
Safari
When we went on safari, our guide said that we would see the big five if we were lucky, we did, but what was most interesting to me was not the hectic and predatory environment we watched in National Geography, but the fact that they were waiting for us, calmly settled in the shade, as if we had come to sit with them.
We traveled for kilometers and saw and examined each of them on roads that were not even known to be roads, and we had the chance to observe them closely in their natural environments. When we reached each settlement, we were greeted by dancing locals. It was impossible not to admire their colorful clothes and lively dances. While the women are busy with the children and preparing food, the men are responsible for security and bringing money home. On the road, students trying to reach their schools on a long walk were almost the only sign reminding us of the life we were used to.
